MORE than 170 bus services in Inverness have now failed to run in the space of just seven days – after Stagecoach announced another 16 cancellations on Wednesday.

The latest cancellations, which are due to a mix of staff shortages and illness, affect a number of journeys on services 1, 2, 3 and 7.

Service 3, which travels between Craig Dunain and Culloden via the city centre, is the most affected with 11 cancellations.

There were two cancellations apiece for services 7 and 1 – which cover routes between the city centre and Lochardil, Culduthel, Hilton, Milton of Leys and Raigmore; and the city centre and Balloch respectively

There was also a single cancellation on service 2, which runs from Craig Dunain through the city centre and out to Woodside Village via Raigmore and the Inverness Campus.

Stagecoach has offered "apologies for any inconvenience this may cause".
