Motorists are being warned of planned road resurfacing work south of Inverness next week.

It will take place on the B851 at Scatraig, Strathnairn from Monday November to Friday November 15. Traffic management arrangements affecting the B851 between the quarry access and the A9 will be put in place:

Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on Monday November 11 and Tuesday November 12 to enable preparatory works to be carried out.

Road closures (part-day) on Wednesday November 13 to Friday November 15 between 9am and 4.30pm will be required. Temporary traffic lights will be in use outside these times.

These arrangements are required to ensure safe working practices for the public and site personnel.

Diversions will be in place during the part-day road closures.

All vehicles approaching from the B851 will be diverted onto the B861 towards Inverness. No access from the A9 will be allowed, with light vehicles diverted along the minor roads through Daviot and HGV’s diverted on the A9 towards Inverness.

Residents at Faillie will be affected by the work.

Their access to and from their homes will be managed through the works by the contractor. Letters providing full details will be delivered to all residents will be carried out this week.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained. During the closure times, buses and waste collections will be rerouted to avoid damage to the new surfacing material.

Advance notification signs advising the public of this closure will be erected at the site this week, giving advance notice of the works.

Highland Council apologises for any inconvenience.
