NAIRN BID: 'There is every reason for the wise entrepreneur to invest in Nairn'
We’ve had a really productive month here in Nairn, and as the daffs come out and the days get so much longer, we are all looking forward to the warmer weather and lots of visitors coming to experience what we enjoy all year round.
In an effort to highlight all the wonderful things going on around Nairn, we have a festival at the end of this month, Taste of Nairn. This started as just food and drink but has evolved into so much more, this year featuring kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, yoga, Ayurveda and more.
This is in addition to the core event of a two-day artisan market at Nairn Community and Arts Centre, with the World Tattie Scone Championships and a “Royal” Showstopper Cake competition. Make a note in your diary not to go away the weekend of April 28-30 – and invite all your friends to come visit!
Although high streets all over the country have their problems, Nairn’s is looking great – partly thanks to the paint grants Nairn BID has distributed!
There is an air of anticipation too, with new shops about to open. Strut – a shoe shop addition to the Brambles empire – and The Grapemonger adding to the OneOneTwo stable, join the relocation of Grace Lily who is back to popular acclaim.
Add to this, two prominent businesses being for sale as going concerns, and there is every reason for the wise entrepreneur to invest in Nairn.
We wish Pat Fraser and the Nairn Bookshop very well in finding new owners and we are sure they will both go from strength to strength under new management.
We will continue to keep our ears to the ground and offer help to anyone considering buying the old M&Co premises.
And we have, of course, written to the new First Minister to invite him to come to Nairn to announce the start of the work on the bypass. We live, as they say, in hope!
