Nairn Games looks for more volunteers
Nairn Games committee has launched a last minute appeal for volunteers to help run the event.
The popular town day out is set to take place at Nairn Links next Saturday (August 19).
Games convener Hugh Allison, who took over from long-serving member Sandra Ross this year, said: “The games relies on the goodwill of local businesses and the community to sustain the event which is the highlight of the summer.”
The games is looking for extra hands to help with a range of tasks including serving as flag bearers on the day.
They have already had the advantage of a variety of assistance, with Nairn Men’s Shed refurbishing signage for the event and local resident and committee member Derek Prior preparing new poles both for carrying bunting and for use as cabers in the arena.
More information on how to get involved is available on the Nairn Highland Games official Facebook page or by contacting Mr Allison on 07743 473081.
Forms for entering competition categories are also available via the Facebook page.
These should be completed and returned this week, with entries closing on Saturday.
