Two arrested and charged after drugs recovery in Stranraer

Two men have been arrested and charged after drugs with an estimated street value of around £17,800 were recovered in Stranraer.

Police stopped a car on the A75 near the junction with Commerce Road at around 1pm on Thursday.

A quantity of cocaine with an estimated value of £14,000 and cannabis with an estimated value of £3,800 were recovered.

A 32-year-old man and a 42-year-old man were arrested and charged in connection with drug offences.

They are expected to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court in due course.

Detective Constable Jill Cash of Police Scotland said: “Drugs cause misery on our communities and Police Scotland is committed to bringing those involved in the misuse of illegal substances to justice.
