Nairn-based Gordon Timber sawmill appoints new CEO





A sawmilling business based in Nairn announced the appointment of a new CEO at the helm.

This marks a significant transition for Gordon Timber, as the family-owned company of over 160, as it will see joint managing directors Scott and Rod Gordon become Executive Directors after serving in the role for 25 years.

Johnny Dean, who has been with Gordon Timber for 17 years, has been named as the company’s new CEO, as Rod will concentrate on strategic priorities whilst Scott continues with his responsibility for capital expenditure and sales.

Mr Dean is said to have played a pivotal role as a senior manager and has overseen the Company’s harvesting operations, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and innovation in the business.

Scott and Rod Gordon expressed their confidence in his leadership, stating: "Johnny’s deep understanding of our operations, industry expertise, and commitment to our values make him the ideal person to take Gordon Timber forward. His leadership will ensure we continue to build on our strong foundations whilst embracing future opportunities for growth and development.
