A former sandwich shop near the River Ness is set for a new life as a tanning salon - and will open its doors later this week.

Glo Tanning will open its doors in Waterloo Place this Friday morning.

The site will be familiar to food fans, having previously hosted The Grumpy Chef until it closed its doors back in January.

But the vacant site has not stayed empty for long, with Glo Tanning set to welcome its first customers at 10am with a number of opening deals and packages on Friday and then on into the weekend - and a range of “state of the art premium tanning beds”.

The site is run by DK Aesthetics Ltd, which has a number of monthly clinics as well as tanning salons.

Monthly clinics run by the company include ones in Elgin and Aviemore, as well as in the central belt and the south-west of Scotland.

It is understood that up to eight jobs were created for the new salon in Inverness.
