ScotRail services in Inverness and the Highlands to operate as normal during strike action
A TRAIN operator has confirmed that train services in the Highlands will operate as normal during the coming strike action days this week.
ScotRail services will not be affected by the fresh waves of strikes set too take place on Wednesday, February 1 and and Friday, February 3.
During those days, members of rail trade unions RMT and ASLEF will take part in planned strike action.
The planned strike action is a result of a dispute between the trade unions and a number of other train operating companies across the UK, and does not involve any ScotRail staff.
David Simpson, ScotRail Service Delivery Director, said: “No ScotRail services will be affected by this week’s upcoming strike action. It is disappointing to see more widespread disruption across the Great Britain at a time when the railway needs to be doing everything it can to encourage more people to travel by train.
“The dispute between the trade unions and other train operators does not involve any ScotRail staff, which means ScotRail services will operate as normal on Wednesday, February 1 and and Friday, February 3.”
