No U-turn on River Ness art project in Inverness

Inverness Provost Helen Carmichael has insisted there will be no going back on the decision to grant planning permission for a major riverside artwork.

Councillor Carmichael insisted along with other city leaders that all procedures leading to the approval of the controversial My Ness development by council officers were followed correctly – and that all councillors were kept updated and had their chance to comment at every stage along the way.

Speaking exclusively to the Inverness Courier she also insisted she would not be meeting members of the OpenNess group who have been campaigning for the application to create two curved walls on opposite banks of the River Ness to be recalled.

See Friday's edition of the Inverness Courier for more.
