Global to increase workforce after signing North Sea deal
Additional jobs will be created by engineering specialist Global E&C – part of the Inverness-based Global Energy Group – following a new deal with independent North Sea developer EnQuest.
Global E&C has been awarded a contract as the default construction contractor for a number of EnQuest’s UK offshore assets and has also secured a position on EnQuest’s engineering, modifications and repair services framework for brownfield services, including survey, engineering and fabrication.
Global E&C, which has its headquarters in Aberdeen, has held contracts with EnQuest for the past five years and has built up a strong relationship with the producer.
Global E&C managing director Derek Mitchel said: “We’re delighted to continue supporting EnQuest in the North Sea and this award is testament to our strong delivery over the years and the trust which has been built between our businesses.
“It’s fantastic to have been recognised in this way and are looking forward to continuing to build on our track record of safely and efficiently executing brownfield scopes for EnQuest.”
Global E&C is also looking to strengthen its 900-strong workforce and recruit an additional 60 offshore and onshore personnel.
Terry Allan, Global E&C’s corporate development director, said: “We’ve been very focused on a strategy to be the most efficient brownfield-focused EPC contract in the North Sea and this notable award for our team is a significant part in that journey.”
