Rocpool restaurant in Inverness sees change in ownership
The owners of one of Scotland’s most acclaimed restaurants have announced a new proprietor taking on the eatery.
After 23 successful years at the helm Steven and Fiona Devlin have confirmed that Rocpool Restaurant in Inverness will be under new ownership from today, March 18.
The couple, whose passion and vision have established Rocpool as an award-winning culinary beacon, have decided the time is right to pass the business on to the next custodians.
Steven said: “Rocpool has been a wonderful journey for us. We’ve had the privilege of welcoming guests from across the world and building something truly special in the heart of Inverness.
“The restaurant’s success is built on a fantastic team with a passionate commitment to excellence. As we move on to explore new horizons and a less high-paced way of life, we are confident that the new owner will continue to build on Rocpool’s legacy.
“Our exceptional senior management team will remain in place, ensuring a seamless transition. Head Chef George Sleet and Restaurant Manager David Owen Matheson, who together bring 36 years of experience in Rocpool, will continue their significant roles in delivering the outstanding dining experience our customers expect.
“We want to thank all of those wonderful customers for their support, and it was important to us that we hand over the reins to a new owner who will also cherish them.”
The new owner, Allan Main, an entrepreneur with a proven track record in hospitality, shares the same commitment to quality and service that has defined Rocpool’s reputation, expressing his excitement about continuing the restaurant’s success.
He said:“Steven and Fiona have built something truly special at Rocpool, and I am delighted to take on this responsibility.
“The restaurant has set a high standard for hospitality in the Highlands, and I look forward to working alongside the incredible team to continue delivering exceptional dining experiences. Rocpool’s achievements are a testament to its team and its loyal customers, and now I want to play my part in adding more chapters of success to its story.”
Despite the change in ownership, no major changes are planned, and the restaurant will continue to operate with the same ethos that has made it a favourite among locals and visitors alike.
Steven and Fiona’s decision to step away from the restaurant is driven by a desire to enjoy a different work-life balance after decades of dedication to the industry. However, they emphasise that Rocpool’s future remains bright and full of opportunity under its new leadership.
