Inverness paralegal takes on Strictly Inverness 2025 for a cause close to her heart
For Laura Archibald, taking part in Strictly Inverness 2025 is more than just a challenge—it’s a deeply personal way to give back.
The 24-year-old paralegal, who moved to Inverness two years ago from her hometown of Keith, has seen firsthand the impact of cancer on loved ones, making this cause particularly close to her heart.
“I wanted to apply for Strictly since I moved to Inverness two years ago from my hometown of Keith. Sadly, I have had family members who have had cancer, so this is an opportunity to give back,” she shared.
Pushing herself out of her comfort zone has been a theme for Laura over the past year, and Strictly Inverness is the next step in that journey.
“Over the past year, in particular, I have totally pushed myself out of my comfort zone, and wanted this to continue. I would say that this might well be the toughest thing I’ll ever do - dancing in front of around 600 people is seriously scary! And, of course, to meet new people, and make lifelong friends.”
Known for her fun and outgoing nature, Laura describes herself as someone who “loves a yap and a Maccies when hungover, works hard but parties harder!”
She also took a bold step last year, travelling solo for the first time—and loving every moment of it.
To support her fundraising efforts, Laura is hosting two fantastic events:
Quiz Night – March 27 at Inverness Rugby Club
Ceilidh – April 19 at the Drumossie Hotel
Strictly Inverness is a major annual fundraising event that supports Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre, with competitors undergoing weeks of training before showcasing their dance skills in a live performance.
