Message from team Peaky Blinders for Portsoy as filming finishes
PEAKY Blinders has packed up and left Portsoy after five successful days of filming in the coastal village.
Friday was the last day of filming in the town, with Finn Cole, who plays Michael Gray, spotted on set in what was an action-packed day.
Some shots were taken on boats. However, there was no sign of actor Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby.
As they leave Portsoy, those involved with Peaky Blinders noted their appreciation for the welcome they have received.
Posting on social media, Peaky Blinders' official account said: "Portsoy, you have been amazing."
Director Anthony Byrne added: "A huge thank you to the people of Portsoy who welcomed us and let us take over their town for a week. It has been an absolute joy.
"Our time with you is over which is hard to believe given the many conversations, recces and logistical discussions we have had for over a year now.
"Personally, I want to thank the additional crew who joined us this week. Our location managers David Taylor and Susan Raynes who facilitated us.
"The maritime crews who kept us dry, our phenomenal construction and art department who brought this place to life and made it Peaky.
"But more than that to the locals who ultimately made it possible. I can’t wait for you all to see what we did here."
It has been a busy week overall for crew and cast, who have had to deal with freezing temperatures by the seaside.
Peaky Blinders is set in Birmingham shortly after World War One, but Portsoy's 17th century harbour has been turned into a French village for the show.
The new harbour was used for what appeared to be some sort of prison scenes.
The Scottish Government is allowing film and TV production to take place during the coronavirus pandemic under strict rules.
All cast and crew were routinely tested for Covid-19.
