Peat & Diesel’s Black Isle Belter dubbed a ‘resounding success’ after attracting 10,000 people over the weekend
A Highland music event has been dubbed a ‘resounding success’ after attracting 10,000 people over the weekend.
Two-day event, Peat & Diesel’s Black Isle Belter, took place at the Black Isle Showground in Muir of Ord and featured a line-up of bands headed by Stornoway’s Peat & Diesel comprising Calum “Boydie” MacLeod, Innes Scott and Uilly Macleod.
Saturday’s event was for over 16s while Sunday’s was more family-orientated.
Despite long bar queues, revellers were still able to enjoy the weekend and took to social media to praise the ‘fantastic’ weekend.
Peat & Diesel’s manager Robert Hicks told Highland News & Media: “It’s been a resounding success, although there have been a few first-event teething problems.
“The atmosphere has been phenomenal and the family day was lovely. The weather didn’t dampen it at all!
“I think the band are really happy and we couldn’t have asked for more. We are humbled by the numbers the event attracted.”
When asked if they plan to host another weekend event, he added: “Who knows! It was the most asked question over the weekend! We’re still packing up and then we’ll sit down and see where we go next!”
