People can put themselves forward for Inverness Central by-election

NOMINATIONS are open for candidates who want represent Inverness city centre on Highland Council.
A by-election will be held on November 14 following the resignation of former councillor Richard Laird.
People have until October 14 to put themselves forward to stand for election to the Inverness Central ward which also includes Merkinch, Dalneigh and South Kessock.
The other ward councillors are Janet Campbell (Independent) and Bet McAllister (Labour).
