Inverness pervert wanted images of 12-year-old girl - but he was asking undercover police officer
A 61-year-old Inverness man was caught communicating sexually with what he thought was a 12-year-old girl but it was in actual fact an undercover police officer.
Sheriff Gary Aitken was told it was the third time that Calum Thomson, of Bruce Gardens, had been arrested for a similar offence and that he had twice participated in a sex offenders’ programme intended to stop this perverted behaviour.

Thomson appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted communicating indecently with what he believed to be a girl called 'Lara' and asking her to send him images of herself.
The offence took place using Snapchat at his home between April 17 and 18 last year.
Fiscal depute Emily Hood told the court that Thomson used his own name in his account, asked her if she wanted to communicate with older men and then wanted to know what she was wearing and what her bra size was.
Sentence was deferred until April 1 for a background report and an assessment for the Moving Forward to Change sex offenders’ programme.
Sheriff Aitken told him: "Looking at your record, it is a process you have been through twice before."
Thomson disputed this saying he had only participated once in Moving Forward to Change.
Sheriff Aitken replied: "Where you are likely to be moving to is Porterfield (prison). But as you have not served a prison sentence before, I can't do that today."
Thomson was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register immediately.
