Bargain hunters were out and about in Inverness on Thursday as the Boxing Day sales got under way in many stores.

Shoppers flocked to the Eastgate Shopping Centre and other city centre shops to see if they could use their festive money to pick up some cracking deals.

And with some major retailers, like Next, taking the 26th off before kicking off the end-of-year sales with gusto on Friday instead, there’ll likely be even more shoppers about as we head into the weekend.

Indeed, with the weather set mild, the conditions are likely to entice people to burn off some of those Christmas calories with a wander outside while indulging in a little post-Christmas retail therapy.

Were you among the shoppers who ventured out on Boxing Day? Did you get any cracking bargains? Or are you holding back until some of the other major chains open their doors on Friday? Let us know at newsdesk@hnmedia.co.uk.
