Community choir Acclaim held its annual Christmas concert at Free North Church in the city, with more than £3700 raised for mental health charity Mikeysline.

Choir leader Elaine Kirkham said: “We had a super concert thanks with around 700 people attending. The feedback has been excellent with people saying it is the best yet!

“We raised just over £3740 for Mikeysline, which is one of the highest amounts we have ever raised at our concerts. And of course, all of this goes directly to Mikeysline as the choir itself is self-funding.”

Ms Kirkham and joint choir leader Moira McCarrell visited Mikeysline this week to hand over the donation.
