Soaking up the sunshine in Inverness at free family fun day at Eden Court
The sun shone down on a free family fun day created by Eden Court’s engagement team on Sunday from noon.
Head of the engagement team Lucy McGlennon said: “We were delighted with the turnout for our day which formed part of this year’s Under Canvas festival and closed Eden Court’s Summer Studio Programme.
“Over 600 young people and their families chose to spend their afternoon on the lawn, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the atmosphere.
“The event was jam-packed with activities to take part in, led by a brilliant team of local acts and artists as well as our team.
“Katy-Louise Mackay, of Trapeze Entertainment, kept everyone busy with circus skills early in the day.
“Inside our Under Canvas tent, we were treated to storytelling by Alis Ballance, close-up magic by Scott (Highland Magician) and in the evening the engagement team led Bananas Bingo which was a big hit.
"The day closed with some family-friendly comedy from Matthew, John and Kieran from the Comedy Bothy.”
As well as just enjoying the chance to chill, families and youngsters were getting stuck into circus skills such as diablo and plate-spinning, and also got the chance to play traditional summer garden games, dance, experiment with crafts – and take part in a scavenger hunt.
Lucy McGlennon said: “The day was free to attend and we are proud to have been able to support it.
"It was a way of providing an opportunity for families to come and spend time at Eden Court and enjoy the magic of Under Canvas just before a new school year gets underway.”
