PICTURES: Double fun for Strictly Inverness dancers as James Mackenzie and Faye Ferguson organise two events in aid of Highland Hospice
A dance partnership organised two events last weekend to help a local charity.
Highland News and Media photographer James Mackenzie and Faye Ferguson, a theatre recovery nurse at Raigmore Hospital, are both taking part in this year’s Strictly Inverness contest in aid of Highland Hospice.
Mr Mackenzie held an afternoon tea event at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on Sunday, which raised a total of £942.62.
Thanking all those who attended for raising such an impressive amount he added: “I would also like to thank all the people involved with the organisation of the event.
“Those people are: Tracey Gill, Steve Barron, Darrel Paterson and Louise Ross from Highland News and Media, Kenny McMillan and all his staff at the Drumossie Hotel and last, but not least, Wendy Carr for providing the beautiful entertainment for the event. Really I took credit for all their hard work!”
In addition to the tea he also had his head shaved at a ladies day event in Dingwall organised by Mrs Ferguson, who is from the town.
A total of 50 people attended, raising £800 on Saturday.
Mrs Ferguson said: “I was very lucky as the Legion had two busloads of Hearts fans that had booked the front bar and they all put money in my bucket when they arrived before going to the game.”
She praised Mr Mackenzie as a good sport for agreeing to have his head shaved.
She has also organised an Easter funday for youngsters this Saturday at the National Hotel in Dingwall.
