Pictures: Fort George near Inverness celebrates more than 2000 years of Scottish history
From the Picts and Romans to 1940s swing bands - more than 2000 years of history is being celebrated at Fort George near Inverness.
Historic Scotland’s largest re-enactment event has returned to the fort this weekend with Living History camps to explore and even a sporty twist with some special celebrations showcasing medieval games.
The event will also take place tomorrow from 11am to 5pm.

The re-enactment is part of the annual event programme run by Historic Environment Scotland which manage the site.
Tickets can be bought in advance online at alittlehistory.scot/celebration and are free for Historic Scotland members.
A dedicated shuttle bus will be in operation between the airport rail station and Fort George between 9.30am – 5.30pm across the weekend.
