Almost £2000 was raised for Highland Hospice at a fundraising bingo night at Café V8 in Inverness.
The event was organised by Donna Fraser, one of nine finalists in this year’s Ness Factor singing competition.
Miss Fraser (35), from Balloch, said the evening raised £1987 in total and added: “It was a great night of prize bingo and raffles, and finished off with music from The Travelling Wrinklies.
“We had around 75 attend on the night as well as online raffle sales.
“A huge thanks to Ronnie Dyce from Café V8 who sponsored and compered the event.”
Miss Fraser’s next fundraiser will be a local hoolie with a night of live music and possibly another raffle on Saturday, October 29.
A hospice spokesman said: “Huge congratulations to Ness Factor finalist Donna Fraser who managed to raise an incredible £1987 at her bingo night at Café V8 on Saturday, September 17.
“Donna is doing Ness Factor in memory of her dad Donnie who was such a huge supporter of the hospice and it was the anniversary of his passing on Saturday.
“Massive thank you to Ronnie Dyce and Dougal from V8 for hosting the event, sponsoring all the bingo prizes as well as paying for the buffet, just amazing.”
As well as Miss Fraser, also taking part in this year’s Ness Factor are: Stephen Laurie, Lisa Gray, Jennifer Urquhart, Fiona Clark, Andrew Gill, Caitlin Farquhar, Moira Black and Gregor Matheson.
They will spend the next few months training ahead of the event on November 12 at the Drumossie Hotel.
