PICTURES: Highland Council awards 'hard work and commitment'
Highland Council has celebrated the talent and commitment of its staff across various sectors.
Local authority employees were invited to enter projects and initiatives into nine categories for its annual Staff Recognition Awards at Inverness’s Kingsmills Hotel.
Interim chief executive Kate Lackie said: “It was heartening to come together to share so many great examples of projects from across the Highlands which are making a positive difference to our local residents and communities.
“I am extremely proud of the dedication demonstrated by our workforce at a time of continued uncertainty and extend my sincere thanks to all for their continued hard work and commitment.”
The Ukrainian resettlement team collected the convenor’s award, from Convenor Bill Lobban.
Officers with long-service to the council were also recognised.
The other winners were:
- A fair and caring Highland: Supporting interrupted learning
- Resilient and sustainable communities: Cost-of-living support fund
- Accessible and sustainable Highland homes: Housing development team
- A sustainable Highland environment and global centre for renewable energy: Green Freeport
- A resilient and sustainable council: Project Dòchas (ICT project)
- Partnership award: Preventing poverty through partnerships
- Apprentice/trainee of the year: Michael Silva
- Employee of the year: Anja Fuglestad (catering service at Croy Primary School)
- Team of the year: Corran Ferry crew
