The sun shone over a charity fundraiser at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness which raised a whooping £40,500 for the Highland mental health charity.

This second edition of Mikeysline’s fundraiser held on the day of the Royal Ascot Ladies Day was a great success, with the hotel filled with glamourous outfits for the occasion.

After a lunch and a series of fundraising games and a performance by a Dolly Parton tribute act, as well as a surprise performance by local choir Highland Voices, the attendees heard from Mikeysline’s CEO Emily Stokes before heading to the marquee all set up for the races.

Ms Stokes said: “It was a glorious day with a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone came with such a lovely positive attitude and everyone had a great time. It was amazing that everyone could sit outside as well.

“I think everybody was really up to have a great day and celebrate and support Mikeysline, and they were really interested in what we do.

“We felt it went really well, and our thanks go to the Kingsmills and to our key partners for their sponsorship, which enabled us to make the day work. “

Ms Stokes continued: “It was a huge success overall. It’s the second year that we have done it and we feel that there is even more we can do next year.

“We had so many people say how much they enjoyed it, and we had some new members of staff who did an excellent job.

“For us, it’s all about raising awareness on what we provide but also to raise funds to support our services and look at what we can do more of.

“Getting more people to support our mental health and suicide prevention charity is key. “Through this, we want to let people know more about us and how they can signpost people they know who might need our support.”

The event will return next year on June 19.
