An annual appeal to help veterans has been launched in Inverness today.
The 2022 Scottish Poppy Appeal was launched at a reception in Inverness Town House hosted by the Depute Provost of Inverness Jackie Hendry.
She said that, as well as being the formal launch of the appeal, it was also to raise awareness of the life changing work of Poppy Scotland and to thank local supporters.
She added: "Volunteers who stand out in all weathers, smiling and chatting to passers by, who have such a vital role in the organisation."
It was followed by a short service this afternoon to open the city's Garden Of Remembrance where prayers were said, those attending observed a minute's silence and poppy wreaths were laid.
Roddy Wood, the poppy convener for Royal British Legion Scotland, appealed for volunteers to get in touch if they could help at local supermarkets between October 27 and November 12.
Anyone who can help should contact him either via email at roddywood@icloud.com or on 07599501374.
