City streets were transformed into a sea of pink as people from across Inverness took part in the Race for Life.
More than £56,190 was raised at the event on Sunday to go towards helping Cancer Research find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and save more lives.
Mum of four Lynsey Ritchie from Falkirk shared her inspirational story of being diagnosed with breast cancer in a powerful two minute audio recording which was played to the 800 participants before they set off on the 5k and 10k courses.
She was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer aged 42 and knows exactly how vital it is to raise funds for life-saving research.
Now aged 45 years old she said: “I do not, and will not ever, let cancer rule my life but it has changed my life and will forever be a part of my story.”
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, is run in partnership with Tesco.
