Wedding dresses from past decades are being displayed at a newly-refubished Inverness church.
The theme of the free exhibition, at Crown Church until Tuesday, is Weddings Past, Present and Future.
It takes a nostalgic look at weddings, many of which have been celebrated in the church but not exclusively, while memorabilia has also been loaned.
It is open between 10am and 4pm and visitors will be welcomed with a glass of non-alcoholic fizz and a slice of cake and encouraged to take in the surroundings.
Chrisanne Robertson, one of the organising team, said: “It’s been a joy and privilege to share in so many memories as the various mementos were dropped off.
“We’ve heard so many very interesting and amusing tales.”
The aim is to remind people the church is there to support families and would like to host more weddings in the building which has undergone a major upgrade and reconfiguration.
Church to accommodate neighbouring nursery
Congregation members are holding an evening reception tomorrow including “wedding speeches”, the cutting of a cake followed by a ceilidh, songs and dancing in the upper hall.
Another team member, Lesley McRoberts, said: “After a couple of years without celebrations of any kind, we thought it would be a lovely opportunity for some fun.
“Several couples in the congregation have missed out on significant wedding anniversary parties and this is a great excuse to be together in good times after the bad,” she said .
To mark a completion of work carried out over the past two years, an open day will be held on August 13 between 10am and 4pm.
