PICTURES: Goodies given away at Highland Food and Drink Trail by co-sponsor LNER as crowds flock to street food zone by River Ness in Inverness
Street food-related goodies were given away at the Highland Food and Drink Trail by one of its sponsors.
The trail, which operates on a dedicated street food zone next to the River Ness from Wednesday to Sunday, aims to showcase the best of local produce.
A team from LNER joined the street food vendors to hand out more than 1000 water bottles and reusable bamboo cutlery sets.
The rail company, which is working with the trail and Visit Inverness Loch Ness, is highlighting Highland food and drink as a major attraction to bring visitors to Inverness.
Trail director Douglas Hardie said the LNER team was "blown away" by how busy it was last Saturday.
"The trail has been growing in popularity since the beginning of the year, and it was lovely to see it so well supported by everyone who turned up," he said.
"All the street food trucks sold out, the sun was out and there was a buzz about the riverside."
Since it started early this year, Highland Food and Drink Trail has a changing and ever growing offering of street food available every week.
It supports and nurtures existing local street food businesses, and develops new-start businesses as a way to promote local food and to increase footfall into the centre of Inverness.
