PICTURES: Thursday night’s Strictly Inverness winners announced
Charity dance extravaganza Strictly Inverness is now under way, as Thursday night’s winners have been announced.
The popular annual dancing contest, which raises funds for the Highland Hospice and has already smashed through £250,000 so far this year, hit the dance floor last night (Thursday) with a family-friendly, fun-packed evening.
Local dance schools were among those who got to showcase their talents at the start of a week of spectacular shows.
And the contest kicked off with a group dance featuring the first eight dancing couples to compete in front of a panel of judges for a place in this weekend's final.
The eight pairs of dancers performed two individual dances as well as their Team Thursday group dance in front of an electric audience in the Inverness Ice Centre.
Every couple danced their hearts out, as the audience were immersed by each performance. For dancing the tango and salsa, to jumping into street style and musical theatre, it’s fair to say that this show was nothing short of Strictly magic.
Going through to Saturday’s final is:
Shireen and Jason.
Jackie and Sonny.
Rachel and Reece.
And the overall winner of Team Thursday going through to the final is Beth and Darryl.
They will be followed by the other eight couples tonight, when the format will be the same, before the top four couples in each night then take part in the grand final on Saturday.
The dancers will once again be put through their paces in the grand final, which will be judged by BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice.
