A footballer turned ultra-distance adventurer switched to pedal power on the fifth day of his fundraising circuit of the North Coast 500 (NC500).
Steven Mackay had to finish early on Monday after he injured his Achilles tendon and suffered from bad blisters on his feet.
His team were loaned bikes so that they could continue yesterday and by the evening they had reached Clashnessie.
His father, Callum Mackay, said he was doing alright and added: "He's got mad blisters through running in the rain. He's just carrying on – they got some bikes yesterday. He will see how far he will get."
He said that they reached 20 miles short of Durness on Monday when they were forced to finish early and he would see how he was feeling before starting to run again.
"He was speaking to a physio and he might be alright if he straps it up," he said.
He set off from Inverness Cathedral on Friday and was originally aiming to complete the entire tourist route in just 10 days in aid of MFR Radio's Cash For Kids charity.
