More than 1000 children took advantage of the opportunity to play on the pitch at Caley Thistle’s Caledonian Stadium in Inverness.
Two kids’ days were organised last weekend – one for girls on Saturday and the other for boys on Sunday – as part of the SFA’s development programme.
Craig Masterton, the club’s head of community development, said it was arranged to coincide with the end of the football season.
He said there were in excess of 1000 youngsters who took part, adding: “It was a one-off opportunity to play on the pitch.”
Mr Masterton said there were well established pathways to get both boys and girls as young as three years old involved with the club’s youth teams.
And, while the 2021/22 season has just finished, Mr Masterton said he was already planning ahead. He added: “The work here never stops for us. We’ve got courses for kids throughout the summer. It’s about getting as many as possible involved.”
