Poems and songs for bereaved families at butterfly release memorial event in Inverness Botanic Gardens
AN annual memorial service held in the meadow area of Inverness Botanic Gardens on Sunday was a great success, according to organisers.
Featuring the release of 99 butterflies and attended by 160 guests, the event was organised by Simpson’s Memory Box Appeal (SiMBA), a charity which helps those affected by the loss of a baby during pregnancy.
The service also featured readings of poems written by bereaved families and a performance of four songs by the Inverness Military Wives Choir.
A spokeswoman for the charity said: “The butterfly release is a beautiful, poignant annual event where we come together to remember our babies.”
