Police have blocked off a road in Inverness city centre.

Union Street has been cordoned off with vehicles not able to enter the area.

Some police officers have been seen in the area but it is unclear why the street is off-limits.

It is not known how long it has been blocked.

It is thought to be impacting traffic elsewhere in the city centre.

A spokesperson for Stagecoach Highland said: “Due to a police incident, we are unable to service any stops on Union Street until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Police have been approached for comment.
