Police have appealed for help finding the owner of a lost dog in Inverness.

Officers at Burnett Road police station took to social media on Saturday afternoon in a bid to reunite their new furry friend with their owner.

A police spokesperson said: “We have a lovely female staffy type dog with us at Burnett Road, Inverness - however no-one wants to be stuck in a Police Station over the weekend!

“If you know who this dog belongs to, she has a bright pink collar on and is very timid. We believe she is from the Hilton area, however her chip details are unfortunately not up to date.

“If this is your dog, please come along to Burnett Road Police Station with proof of ownership.

“For now, she's making herself comfortable.”
