Police Scotland probe three-vehicle road collision at Scaniport south of Inverness

Police are investigating a three vehicle crash just south of Inverness.

UPDATE: 10 people taken to hospital after 3-car crash

The accident happened just after 8pm last night (Wednesday) on the B862 at Scaniport, north of Dores, five miles from the city.

Police were joined at the scene by firefighters and ambulance paramedics, with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sending four appliances from Inverness and Beauly including a heavy rescue unit.

The road was closed for a period of time.

An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were in attendance at a road traffic collision on the B862 near Scaniport with the call coming in at 8.10 pm.

“We assisted the Scottish Ambulance Service before departing the scene at 21:13.

“We sent three appliances from Inverness and one from Beauly.

“The crash involved three vehicles.”

At this time, it is not known if there were any casualties

Police Scotland have been asked to provide further information.
