A POPULAR Inverness city centre cafe is looking for new owners as the venue has been recently put up for lease.

The search for someone wishing to take over Blend Tea & Coffee Merchants on Drummond street has been announced yesterday as the owners posted on their Facebook page the listing on a property website.

According to the advert online, the current owners – who have been running the cafe since 2013 – wish to reduce their business interests, which is why they decided to put the cafe on the market.

Replying to the many comments from loyal customers who were saddened by the news, they said: "We're really hoping to find someone who likes what we do and wants to keep running it in a similar fashion."

The cafe employs two-full time staff as well as the current owner and sells hand blended loose leaf teas and roast coffee and is renowned for the vegetarian and vegan menu and home baking.

The ad on ASG Commercial's website says they are looking for offers over £35,000 for the venue, which extends to around 98 square metres in total.

The announcement says that the current lease has six years left and will expires on October 7, 2028.

Many shared how much they will miss the cafe on social channels.

Claire Hutchins said: "Thank you for years of happy visits for your vegan & veggie options! Hoping very much they will carry on, would be hugely missed."

Rona Hooper added: "I really hope you stay open! One of my favourite places in town!"
