Post Office announces opening of new branch inside Drummond Stores in Culduthel
A NEW Post Office for Inverness will open in the Drummond Stores' Spar shop in Culduthel next month.
The Post Office made the announcement today, just a few days after it promised "good news to share for Culduthel" in response to concerns over branch coverage in parts of the city.
And the confirmation is likely to please residents in the Culduthel area, who previously were only served by a mobile van service which operated for just two hours per week.
Instead the new Post Office, which will be available seven days a week from 6am to 10pm daily, will be open for 112 hours per week when it begins operating at 1pm on Thursday, June 29.
Its opening on June 29 will herald the end of the current mobile Post Office service which currently stops in Tomatin Road on a Wednesday morning. It will cease on Wednesday, June 28 at 10.30am.

David Duff, Post Office Change Manager, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best.
"We know how important our services are to customers, and are confident that this brand new Post Office alongside the other branches in the area at Crown, Drumblair and Inshes will ensure that people in this area of Inverness have easy access to our services.”
This new branch will offer customers a wide range of Post Office services, from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items. Customers can also take advantage of a wide range of banking services including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks.
