PUBLIC OPINION: Legal requirement for masks expected to end on March 21 in Scotland, here's what the Highlands and Inverness thinks
The legal requirement to wear a mask in indoor public spaces in Scotland is expected to end on March 21.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is to set out plans later this afternoon (Tuesday, March 15).
But it comes amid rising Covid-19 cases around the country.
The Inverness Courier has been out on the streets to find out what the public think of this move.
Alison Hall (72) retired.
"Well, I will be continuing to wear a mask.
"I've had asthma all my life so wear it for personal reasons.
"And with the way the numbers (f Covid-19 cases) are going.
"They can't say it (the pandemic) is all over.
"I don't think that this Coronavirus has disappeared."
Emma Thomas (51) charity worker.
"I suspect I will be wearing a mask inside for the foreseeable.
"I work with young people who are vulnerable so it's important to protect them as well.
"I think we have a responsibility and duty to protect ourselves and others."
Liam Barr (22) student.
"For me masks are a way of being safe.
"I have been wearing masks for my own reasons.

"I will still be wearing them when rules change."

"Even though this could be lifted the virus is still going to be here.
"You've got to keep yourself and others safe."
Sarah Campbell (22) volunteer worker.
"I'll continue to wear a mask.
"It's for the protection of myself and others."
Joseph Segre (20) and Daria Pushilina (20) both students, visiting Inverness from London.
He said: "I think people should be wearing masks inside still.
"It's maybe premature to be lifting the restrictions for inside spaces."
She added: "I agree. It's too early for these changes."
