PULS8 indoor event prepares to ‘raise the bar’ for Inverness dance scene this weekend
A bold new event aiming to reinvigorate the Highland club scene will make its debut at Inverness Ice Centre this weekend – and the team behind it say they are ready to deliver something “unique” for the area.
PULS8, an indoor dance music experience described by organisers as “just the beginning,” has already sold around 850 tickets ahead of its Saturday launch.

The event will feature a main stage inside the Ice Centre itself alongside a second stage outside, where local DJs and selectors will perform throughout the afternoon and early evening.
The main event kicks off at 7pm on Saturday and runs until midnight.
Co-owner and event manager Drew Stacey says the support so far has been hugely encouraging.
“We’ve sold about 850 tickets so far, so we’re as close to a full house as we’re going to get,” he said.
“We’ve gone all-out on production with no expense spared – we’re using one of the best production companies you can get in the UK, Limelights.
“The punters can expect a massive sound system when they walk in. That’ll be complimented by a large LED screen and a good lighting system.”
In addition to the headline acts, Stacey confirmed that a specially constructed second stage will operate from 2–9pm.
“Out the back of the venue we’ll have a load of local selectors playing,” he said. “It’s been really important to us to involve the local scene in this.”
Drew, along with fellow organisers, Phil MacDonald and Ross Mackay, believes PULS8 offers something quite different from the typical club nights available in the area.
“There are a few reasons why this event stands out,” Stacey said. “First, the line-up – if you're into dance or electronic music, you won’t find a better one in the Highlands this year.

“Then there’s the venue. The Ice Centre is so unique and such a big space compared to anywhere else in Inverness.
“And finally, it’s the production. We want to raise the bar – and we’re confident that there won’t be another event like this in Inverness this year.”
The team hope PULS8 will not only provide a memorable night out but serve as a launchpad for a wider revival of large-scale music events in the Highlands.
“We hope the atmosphere will be top tier from start to finish – which we know it will be,” said Stacey. “We want people walking away from this event wanting more of these types of nights in the Highlands.”
Although this is the first event of its kind, the group already have designs on ensuring it won’t be the last.
“Myself, Phil and Ross will be straight back to the drawing board after Saturday,” Stacey said. “We already have plans in place for future events – and this is just the beginning.”
