Inverness rave set to take place in aid of charity
A good old rave is set to take place in Inverness, raising funds for Strictly Inverness.
Eilidh Collis (46) is taking part in this year’s dancing competition which raises funds for the Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.
In order to boost her funds, she has enlisted five DJs for a night of dancing and good tunes at An Seomar on Church Street on April 18.
She said: “I have a line up of five well know and talented DJ’s. Many of which DJ’d in Blue in the hey day, my era!
“I’m hoping that my fundraiser will pull in a large crowd as the venue holds 400 people. In doing so, I'm hoping to raise a fair amount for the Hospice.
“I'm also hoping that this night will go on the map as a monumental night and be part of bringing back a very missed music and clubbing scene to Inverness.”
Although Eilidh currently works as a recruitment consultant, she spent 20 years working in healthcare doing end of life care.
Having had experience of providing people with palliative care, she holds the Highland Hospice very close to heart, and this is why she has decided to take part in Strictly Inverness.
She added: “I thought it was about time that I stopped dancing in my kitchen with the mop and become the inner dancing queen I was born to be!
“My dad was a beautiful dancer and would waltz me around the room whilst standing on his feet. I hope he’ll me looking down on me as I dance in his memory.
“I’ve been needing a challenge to push myself and build my confidence and I couldn’t think of a more worthy charity to do it for.”
