Inverness recruitment event aims to tackle job vacancies in care sector
A recruitment drive aimed at tackling the number of job vacancies in the care sector will take place at a two-day event in Inverness.
It comes as care providers in the Highlands face challenges in attracting a skilled workforce due to various reasons including the availability of affordable housing, the cost of living and the region’s geography.
A recruitment and career event will be held at Hilton Community Centre on Wednesday and Thursday January 29 and 30.

The event will involve Scottish Care, the charity which represents the independent social care sector in Scotland, as well as several providers.
In the first post of its kind in Scotland, Scottish Care has appointed a sector career and attraction lead for care homes in north Highland with funding from the Scottish Government.
Post holder Laura Dobinson is developing new and innovative approaches to recruit people into roles.
The event at Hilton Community Centre will provide information about the current vacancies in care homes for older and younger adults plus the chance for people to have one-to-one conversations with local providers.
Information will also be available about future and current opportunities for students.
In Inverness, vacancies include senior care workers, care assistants, support workers, nursers, recovery workers, chef, domestic staff and activities co-ordinator.
Wednesday’s session is from 4pm to 7pm while the Thursday event is from 10am to 12.30pm.
