Inverness Cathedral to hold Wedding Dress Ball
Inverness Cathedral is to host a one-of-a-kind celebration next month - marking 150 years of weddings with a grand Wedding Dress Ball.
As the city landmark celebrates a century and a half since it was completed the Wedding Dress Ball on Saturday, May 17 is an invitation to couples, families and friends to gather in the heart of Inverness for a night of celebration.
The ball marks a significant milestone in the cathedral’s rich history, which has been the backdrop to countless joyous weddings since its consecration just over 150 years ago.

To honour this milestone, guests are invited to don their wedding attire once more and relive the magic of their special day in the stunning surroundings of Inverness Cathedral.
Very Rev Sarah Murray, Provost of Inverness Cathedral, said: “We are thrilled to host this unique event, which brings together the community and celebrates the enduring legacy of weddings at Inverness Cathedral.
“The Wedding Dress Ball is not only a tribute to 150 years of love and commitment, but a chance for guests to relive the beautiful memories of their own weddings – or look forward to them! – in a truly memorable setting.”
The ball begins at 7.30pm on the night, dress code - wedding attire!

The evening will feature plenty of food and fun, with dancing the night away beneath the cathedral’s magnificent stained glass windows.
Guests will have the opportunity to share their wedding stories and reconnect with loved ones and a special invitation is extended to couples who were unable to celebrate their weddings with friends and family due to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
