Orkney removals firm Advantage Storage Limited to maintain presence in Highland capital after securing permanent Inverness base
ISLAND removals and storage firm, Advantage Storage Limited (ASL), will be staying put in the Highland capital after securing a permanent base in Inverness.
The Orkney business purchased the 1758 square metre unit in Seafield Road in the city's Longman Industrial Estate after securing a six-figure funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland.
ASL, which is owned by Orkney removals, storage and distribution specialist McAdie & Reeve Ltd, had previously rented the unit, and directors Martin Drury and Alex Findlater say the purchase of the unit is testament to their commitment to growth in the Highland capital
The unit currently employs three full-time members and one part-time member of staff and there are plans to grow the number of employees over the next 12 months.
Mr Drury said: “We are really excited to have a permanent base for the company as we see a rise in demand for depot and transportation services from our customers in Orkney. We’re also confident that the additional space will attract local businesses who require storage solutions as we continue to strengthen our presence in Inverness.
“We are grateful to Royal Bank of Scotland for the level of support it offered throughout the transaction which helped us reach an important milestone for the business.”
ASL provides storage solutions to local businesses and a depot for its Orkney-based customers who make large purchases from the mainland.
Margaret Keenan, senior relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, commented: “Helping Martin and Alex achieve their goal has been extremely rewarding for the team and we look forward to seeing the business develop from its new premises.”
