Renowned Gaelic singer to perform at Inverness Acoustic Music Club

A former Mod gold medal winner will perform Gaelic music and song at next month’s Inverness Acoustic Music Club.

Calum Alex Macmillan, who is widely regarded as one of Scotland’s best Gaelic singers, was born and raised on the Isle of Lewis.

Since winning a Mod gold medal, he has performed extensively with Highland group Dàimh, Na Seòid and as a solo artist. He will appear at the Wee Bar in Inverness on June 7 at 7.30pm.

Also on the bill is Ross Martin who has toured with artists such as Julie Fowlis. He also does music tutoring and session work at home and abroad.

The Inverness Acoustic Music Club was formed earlier this year by renowned singing duo Brian Ó hEadhra and Fionnag NicChoinnich to showcase local and emerging talent and established musicians.

It aims to celebrate the best of local, national and international quality singers and musicians from the traditional, folk and world music genres.
