Row over rubbish led to Highlander being fined
A row with a neighbour and her mother cost a Kiltarlity man a £380 fine at Inverness Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank heard that 50-year-old William Pollock, of Balgate Drive, was staying in Glendruidh Road, Inverness at the time of the offences on August 8, 2020 and September 7, 2020.
Fiscal depute Shay Treanor said the first offence occurred after Pollock had engaged with some people carrying out DIY work on his neighbour's house, stating: "The occupant came out, there was a heated discussion and he spat at her, narrowly missing her."
The second incident involved the woman's mother who was shouted and sworn at as Pollock banged bin lids. Pollock admitted two charges of threatening or abusive behaviour.
Defence solicitor John MacColl said: "The first charge involved her saying something rude to him and he reacted. Then he had a row with her mother over refuse being put in a bin.
"He moved away shortly afterwards and there have been no further difficulties."
