A special performance of Scooty and the Skyhooks is set to take place in aid of charity.

The popular Highland band will be taking to the stage on May 10 at Drumossie Hotel as part of Michael Mackenzie’s efforts to fundraise for Strictly Inverness.

The 40-year-old from Croy is taking part in the annual dance competition which sees novice Highlanders learn to dance in a matter of months, and he will be taking to the dancefloor on May 16.

All of it is in aid of the Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre. Alongside the rigorous dance training, the contestants must also host fundraisers to raise as much as possible.

The Scooty and the Skyhooks event is one of Michael’s main events. With just weeks until the Strictly Inverness performance, he is hoping the event will help boost his funds.

Speaking about why he has decided to take part in this year’s event, Michael said: “I wanted to do a challenge completely out of my comfort zone where I can raise as much money as possible for a cause close to many hearts in the Highlands.”

The Scooty and the Skyhooks event will start at 6.30pm and also includes a three course dinner.

Tickets cost £75 and can be purchased by contacting Michael on 07887753594.
