Acclaimed Scottish hard rockers GUN are set for a live performance in Inverness fresh from Hollywood recognition last year.

The MTV honoured and multi-award winning Glasgow band have added a show at The Botanic House venue to their UK-wide Hombres acoustic tour.

The tour follows GUN’s part in soundtracking the Samuel L Jackson movie Damaged with their songs Lucky Guy and Pride.

The band shot to fame in the late 80s and 90s with hits including Better days and Word Up, while supporting the Rolling Stones on their Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle world tours.

They have revisited the Highland capital several times since and bassist Dante Gizzi said: “We love coming to Inverness and were delighted that we were able to add The Botanic House to this run of dates.

“Last year was a big year for us with a top 10 UK album and being involved with the soundtrack to the movie 'Damaged' with Samuel L. Jackson.

“Our acoustic set will include some of those songs as well as our favourites from the last 30 years."

Original trio of band members Dante, Jools Gizzi and Paul McManus are embracing nine Scottish and eight English dates in April and May, with the Inverness show scheduled for Thursday, May 1.

For the first time, the brothers and Paul will perform songs from their chart-topping album Hombres alongside classic GUN anthems from debut album Taking on the World, Gallus and Swagger among others.

On selected dates, cover on the drums will be from Pistol Daisys and Morsecode studio Producer Lewis Kelly.

Released last April, Hombres made waves by soaring into the UK Top 10 and claiming the Scottish No.1 spot.

It was honoured with the prestigious Scottish Album of the Year Award at the 2024 Scottish Music Awards.

The band, who reformed in 2008 after an 11-year absence, have enjoyed another surge in profile and acclaim after the Samuel L. Jackson film.

The band’s promoters said: “Damaged and The Hombres Acoustic tour offers a rare opportunity to experience Hombres in its purest form, delivering raw, unfiltered energy and emotion in an intimate setting.

“Fans can also look forward to stripped-back renditions of GUN classics, reimagined like never before.

“Don’t miss your chance to witness this one-of-a-kind live experience!”

Special guests for the shows will be confirmed at a later date.

Tickets go on sale Friday, February 28, at 10 AM via www.gunofficial.co.uk/tour!
