Scottish Water works on Culcabock Road

Essential works by Scottish Water will be carried out on Culcabock Road in Inverness overnight tonight.

The road will be closed to traffic from 10pm on Monday evening, close to its junction with Wimberley Way, with a signposted diversion in place.

Scottish Water says the aim will be to re-open the road as early as possible on Tuesday.

A spokesman said: “This work is needed to repair a section of water main where we have detected a leak.

"We want to prevent this from deteriorating, with the potential to cause unplanned disruption to a busy road and to water supplies for our customers in the area.

“Unfortunately, the location and depth of the excavation that is needed means there is no safe alternative to closing the road.

"The timing of the repair work has been identified in consultation with Highland Council to coincide with school ‘in service’ days next week.

“We appreciate the need to close the road will cause some disruption to traffic and disturbance to nearby residents. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank customers and road users for their patience while this essential work is completed.”
