AN Inverness man has been found dead on a Black Isle beach.

The shock discovery on Sunday was the second body found washed up at Avoch in just five days.

The dead man has been named as Calum Stout (40) Hilton Court, Inverness.

Mr Stout had been reported missing from New Craigs hospital in Inverness on Friday.

Police received a call from a member of the public who reported they had discovered the body of a man on the shoreline, near to the sewerage works, at Avoch on Sunday at 1036am in the morning.

Police say a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal and there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

Meanwhile Northern Constabulary are still trying to identify the body of a man which was also found washed up on the shores of Avoch on Wednesday.

Roy Clark, a resident in Avoch, made the grim find at around midday while he was walking his Husky dog.

A number of Northern Constabulary officers, including specialists in forensics, dashed to the scene of the discovery.

Police are using medical records to try and establish the identity of the body.
