Show will be a fitting tribute to Inverness woman
THE memory of a special Inverness woman is being honoured at a fundraising fashion show in the city next month.
An annual fashion show staged at the Jurys Inn hotel will honour the late Maria Ross, a hairdresser who was an invaluable friend of the event which has raised thousands of pounds for the Black Isle branch of Cancer Research.
She lost her life to cancer in December last year and the November 1 show will be a tribute to her.
Organisers say Maria always went above and beyond the call of duty to make everyone taking part in he fundraiser feel special and look their best.
Friend Claire Stoddart said: “Maria enjoyed helping the ladies of the Black Isle team and was able to support the charity and the ladies involved. She was passionate about this and it also allowed her to show her creative and compassionate flare.
“This year’s event is very special to all who know Maria, her family and friends as it is near the anniversary of her passing and gives everyone the chance to celebrate and to remember how fun, fabulous and beautiful Maria was.”
Purple, her favourite colour, will provide a fitting theme of the fashion show.
Tickets cost £15 and include refreshments and are on sale now from Caffreys in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Avoch Post Office, Victoriana in Alness and June’s Card Shop in Dingwall, among others.
